Responsible for design, development, testing, and control of major engineering projects involving tools, equipment, plant and manufacturing processes in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment. May exercise technical direction with specific engineering objectives.
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project.
Proposes and evaluates manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas
Directs the design, development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas.
Evaluates expenditures for processes and/or equipment.
Maintains cost controls.
Provides technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.
Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions.
Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.
Actively identifies new areas of learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
Qualifications
Qualifications
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
Thorough knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes.
Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required.
Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to manufacturing preferred.
Operating experience with Unigraphics NX, 3-D Solid Modeling CAD, Design Experience.
Education and Training
College degree with a major in engineering or equivalent training.
Basic Preferred
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
3-5 Years of foundry process/tooling or equivalent manufacturing design experience.
Familiarity of robotics and EOAT designs.
