Grain Merchandiser
Consolidated Grain & Barge (CGB) Grain Merchandisers are decision makers in the organization. They analyze industry information, both domestic and global, to make profitable decisions for their customers and CGB. Merchandisers will spend much of their time on the phone, creating and building relationships with both grain elevator operators and producers, and getting out of the office to meet with customers in person is encouraged.
Primary Job Duties
Purchases grain
Continuous learning of the grain industry and CGB
Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships
Determines customer requirements and communicates market changes and CGB products and services in a timely manner
Issues and completes cash contracts and grower agreements
Determines best fit for products, services and needs for each customer
Executes contracts and agreements to include options if customer desires
Be willing to assist in other areas of day-to-day operations
Job Requirements
4 yr. College Degree or equivalent education/experience
Minimum 2-4 years' experience in grain merchandising
Strong negotiation skills
Good computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Conflict management skills
Interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Travel Required:
5-10% Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
